Who can use Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?
Answer
All current local students, faculty, and staff of CIIS have privileges to use our full ILL services to get books, electronic and/or print articles, and sometimes other materials like tapes and DVDs.
Distance students (outside the Bay Area) may use Interlibrary Loan for articles and book chapters. Books and dissertations are not available.
This is due to the amount of time it takes to mail the item to you and receive it back which would surpass the standard lending period for most libraries. Additionally, the extra trips in the mail to send materials increase the risk of damage or loss, which creates a liability to the CIIS Library and our relationship with lending libraries.
Alumni do not have access to our Interlibrary Loan services. Please contact your local public library which may be able to help you.
