What is a citation manager?

Also known as Reference management software, citation management software, company reference software or personal bibliographic management software, citation managers allow users to keep a database of their research citations and assist in creating in-text citations and bibliographies. 

The CIIS Library offers CIIS students, faculty and staff a free RefWorks citation manager account. 

Here are a few of the benefits of using RefWorks:

1. It's free for CIIS students

All you need to sign up is your mymail.ciis.edu email address 

2. If you can commit to it, it can help you stay organized and save you time

RefWorks is a great tool to help streamline the research process - you can save, organize and cite the research you find 

3. CIIS librarians can help you navigate it 

Bring us your questions, issues, suggestions - we're here to help! Email askref@ciis.edu or schedule a reference appointment for assistance. 

4. You can keep your RefWorks account after you graduate - it's tied to your CIIS email
