What are scholarly sources? Does it just mean peer-reviewed?

Answer

Scholarly or peer-reviewed journal articles are written by scholars or professionals who are experts in their fields. In the sciences and social sciences, they often publish research results. The terms scholarly and peer-reviewed are sometimes used interchangeably, but are slightly different.

Scholarly articles are written by experts in the academic field. Peer-reviewed articles take it a step further wherein these scholarly articles are first scrutinized, or reviewed by other scholars in the same academic field for approval before being published.
