How long can I keep my books and other library items?

Books and Dissertations
Enrolled students, and current faculty and staff of CIIS have an initial loan period of 5 weeks for books and dissertations. Books and Dissertations can be renewed up to two additional five-week periods, if no other patrons have requested the items.
A/V Materials (DVDs, VHS, audiotape)
Enrolled local students, and current faculty and staff of CIIS have an initial loan period of 1 week for A/V materials and items can be renewed for one additional week if no other patron has requested the items.
Distance Students have a loan period of 4 weeks for A/V material to allow for shipping time. No renewals.
Items returned by mail will be checked in as of the postage date.
