The PEPWeb link in the catalog is broken - nothing comes up but a 404 error - How can I still find the article?

Answer

PEPWeb had a platform update last year and some of the links have still not been updated by the vendor and falsely direct patrons to a "404 Document not found" page. Our suggestion for PEPWeb searches that end in no result is to redo the search on their platform directly.

How to find the desired article.

Before conducting the search, ensure that you are logged in (1). If you do not see the message "You are logged in and have full text access via your institution," please choose PEPWeb from the list of Databases. Instructions on how to to access the Library's Databases can be found here.

To perform a search, locate the designated area on the left-hand side of the page. Copy and paste the title of the desired item from the results page in the library catalog into the appropriate field. Adjacent to the text field, select "Title" from the drop-down menu to narrow the search (2). To further refine your search, it may also be helpful to add the name of the author (3). After entering at least the title of the desired item, click on the "Search" button (4).

After locating the desired result, select the title (5) to access additional options. To read the item in your browser, select "Read" (6), or to download the item, select "Download" and choose either an ePub or PDF format (7).
