How do I cite dissertations and theses?

If you are using the ProQuest Theses & Dissertations database, there is a built-in tool to help!
Once you are on the PDF or abstract page for a particular thesis or dissertation, look for the Cite button on the top right of the page:
Click this button and an additional panel will open. From here, you can choose the citation style of your choice from the dropdown menu toward the top of the page and copy the citation from the box below. Double-check the formatting of your citation - these citations are generated by an algorithm and occasionally have errors.
Alternately, you can export the citation directly to RefWorks or another citation manager of your choice:
